Katia Ignatieva is a young Russian lady, born and raised on the banks of the great Volga river, 700 kilometres from Moscow.  After school, driven by her interest in other cultures and the desire to travel and discover the world, she enrolled in the faculty of foreign languages where, thanks to some friends who were members of the local Esperanto Club, she was introduced to the language and became one of its devotees.    After graduation, she moved to Sweden and, for a number of years, she took an active part in the initiatives of the Worldwide Association of Young Esperantists, in Esperanto, and forged a strong link with the theatre, performing in “The Lesson” by Ionesco.  She currently lives in Milan, continues to travel and does not exclude the possibility of one day moving to the other part of the world.

Katia Ignatieva has lent her voice to Francesca da Rimini and read the relevant verses (88-142) in the Russian translation of Michail Lozinskij.
